3D BIM Roundabout Design, Simulate and Analyse - Webcast (Autodesk/TRL/Savoy)

 

This is a presentation to show how a new integrated design BIM workflow for roundabout design can be carried out in real-time.

Using Arcady (TRL), AutoTRACK Junction (Savoy) and AutoCAD Civil 3D (Autodesk) in combination, this enables the designer to design, simulate and analyse at the same time.

This event will be hosted live from the Autodesk offices in Farnborough, UK over the internet with live presentation and in person video stream.

At the Beta launch party with our key players in the product development team.

Today, at AU ,Dave Simeone presented his demo-skills while promoting the upcoming Beta for Civil 3D.

This week is mostly around AU for myself and Jack. Always nice and inspiring to meet people, hear and learn.

Just been to the Keynote speach/AU Opening where they presented several projects and videos where data was produced in Civil 3D.

AU 2009 Follow Up from Jack

Just to follow Ove's post, its been a heavy presenting week for me with three classes.

Along with the visualisation class with Bruce Harfield of 3AM Solutions, I also presented also with Dan Philbrick and Mike Appolo.

Leica Geosystems provided me a point cloud dataset of my site.

I have combined the point cloud with the Civil 3D model inside Navisworks

 

Here also is the visualisation of the model we presented using Dynamite VSP and 3DS MAX

 

Billion Points of Light

The class that I presented along with Mike Appolo was well attended as a big theme at this years AU was point cloud laser scanning.

The guys in Manchester, NH scanned their office with some equipment provided by Faro.

On the video below (shot by Kate Russell) is Rob Todd and Matthew Osborn who have brought us this functionality in Civil 3D!

Overall a great week with the guys from Division and manly our Civil 3D users around the world, especially in these difficult times to get time off and expense.

At AU 2009 – Jack & co presenting

This week has been full of Autodesk AU, customers and partners – a great week!

The sun has been up all days and we haven’t seen it, as usual…  Staying inside!

I personally learnt a lot yesterday at a class held by Eric Chappell. He presented Part Builder and how to get started with custom structures. I will give it a go when I get back next week.

Today Jack, Bruce Harfield (3AM-Solutions) and our colleague Jamie Guilliam, held a presentation on the visualization topic - “Producing compelling visualization…”

In minutes they covered how to get a full and complex Civil 3D project over to 3DS Max Design using Dynamite VSP! and also how to tweak the camera view to feel as a helicopter fly-by.
