There are many features in the 2011 release that you may not have heard about yet as they may not always make the main marketing focus on the release however there are plenty in there that you will like and are based on our users requests.
I have been asked by my users in the UK and Ireland to be able to bring in AGS borehole files and also add the data to long section profile views.
There has been some ways to do it but rather manual.
This year however we have added a small tool to automate the process and read the AGS file in its RAW format and also GEF files from the Benelux region and of course support CSV files to help everyone else.
The tool installs as part of the country kits and is in most European country kits, definately in my UKIE one.
Once you have the country kit applied you will find the tool in the toolbox under the UK and Ireland Reports and 'Borehole Importer'.
I have made a short video and uploaded to YouTube for you to take a look at the workflow to use it.

Another thing is that the help file didn't make my toolbox, so here for now you can read it from this blog site and explains how the tool works and the formatting to use the CSV format.

I am sure it is in some of the country kits over there in the software installation.
I will check for you.

Thanks! I reinstalled Civil to include the UKIE and it does have the borehole importer together with other good tools. Is it possible if you share me some sample data you used for the borehole demo video you had on youtube? This is for me to show to a client who's keen on getting Civil 3D. If possible kindly PM me. Thanks very much!!!
