If you need to put two Gradings with overlap you might find it hard to display the slopes as you want for plot/display.
This is how it can look like with two ponds and different elevations. Below I have created Pond 1 and also placed a Feature line to serve as base for Pond 2.
I place my Gradings/Ponds in two separate Sites.
I also create a temporary Surface called “Temp” that includes Existing Ground and a “paste” of Grading nr 1
Then I create pond 2 (Grading 2) using Surface “Temp” for the calculation. This gives a look like below. These two ponds has a 2.5m difference in elevation where the bottom right one has a lower elevation.
Note the issue we are facing with the grading showing up at the green arrow. There is also a need for clean up at the red arrows.
The “ponds” are created like this (see profile)
This is what we need to clean up.
When I have my two gradings and the temporary Surface I create a new Surface called “Final” (below). Note the two Sites as well.
We can now create a Polyline and use Wipeout to hide the un-wanted parts of Grading 1.
Wipeout hides all things behind it.
Use Draw Order and send the Wipeout object to back. This avoids hiding eveything. and we can now use “Draw Order” once again to move Grading 1 (and all that belong to that one) behind the Wipeout ;-)
As you can see in the note above the Polyline can be placed on a Layer that doesn’t Plot. You can’t turn off that Layer as it will affect the wipeout functionality…
